Hello, everyone. There is something that we need to talk about. Scratch is changing. @Mango-The-Dog and I decided we need to do something about it. This is a collab with our speeches about how scratch needs to change and how we can do that. The project features speeches by both of us, and art by me. The first speech is by @Mango-The-Dog: We need your help to Save Scratch! Scratch is falling apart. This project is to address the problem- and try to fix it! Scratchers people look up to are leaving. Scratch friends are leaving. Mass reporting is becoming a problem. More scratchers are getting banned. @PotatoAnimator used to be banned and @QuaXX is currently banned. Scratch is a place for all genders, and all ages. But now there is art theft, and mass reporting, and more scratchers getting banned, people are leaving, there are haters, and theives, it's becoming a toxic wasteland. People are commenting less and people are sharing less projects, but still some people are leaving because of school. Some scratchers are fighting for fame, Some scratchers are leaving, Some scratchers are cyber-buIIying. This is a SERIOUS problem. Scratch used to be an awesome supportive, place, even when my projects were pretty bad. Scratch has gotten worse, and worse the past few years, and more and more people are leaving. What's the solution? We need all of scratch to come to this project, and all of us to agree to a few simple things: To be respectful. When sharing projects or posting comments, remember that people of many different ages and backgrounds will see what you’ve shared. To be constructive. When commenting on others' projects, say something you like about it and offer suggestions. Share. You are free to remix projects, ideas, images, or anything else you find on Scratch – and anyone can use anything that you share. Be sure to give credit when you remix. To be honest. Don’t try to impersonate other Scratchers, spread rumors, or otherwise try to trick the community. Keep personal info private. (I couldn't add the context of this because it wouldn't allow it.) And, to help keep the site friendly! If you think a project or comment is mean, insulting, too violent, or otherwise inappropriate, click “Report” to let us know about it. Those are the community guidelines, and just simply follow the community guidelines, and scratch will become a constructive, respectful, honest, and friendly site!!!! Thanks for reading, -Mango This next speech is by me: There is something very wrong. Scratch has been changing, and not for the better. There’s more hate, homophobia, and a race to fame. This place used to be a positive and supporting environment to be in, but it’s become a place where I don’t feel secure. Mass reporting, cyberbullying. I don’t like what Scratch is turning into. Art theft, lying? If this is what Scratch is becoming, I don’t want to be a part of it. Many great Scratchers who are kind and wonderful are leaving. Why? Because of all these things. Lots of them have been the victim of art-theft, or have been mass reported. Someone I know on Scratch was falsely reported for creating a project defending the LGBTQ+ community, as well. Seriously? Scratch is a great site to learn coding, animate, share art, and much more. But the community isn’t a lovely place anymore. I’ve made so many friends on Scratch, and it hurts to see them leave. The community guidelines need to be followed. But they aren’t. Respectful, constructive, share, keep personal info private, be honest, and keep it friendly. Nobody really wants this, do they? All of those have been broken. Suddenly Scratch has become kind of toxic. This place is falling apart. Scratch needs to change. Who’s with me? We Want Our Scratch Back! #WWOSB
