A visualization of the shepherd's tone audio illusion with an oscilloscope. The shepherd's tone illusion, which I've recreated using the pitch blocks, consists of multiple rising tones that create the effect of rising forever. You might notice a few gaps and clicks but this is because of scratch's imperfect audio looping, nothing I can do about it :/ It works best with the square/sawtooth wave (tones #2 and #3) as those sounds have extra overtones that mask the looping points. the sine wave on the other hand, is just the single pitch, no additional overtones.
