Play with the y1 y2 and y3 sliders and see how total length is affected. Try to get the total length as small as possible, and see if you can figure out why!
Man I haven't done anything with Scratch in YEARS lol but I whipped this up to help me visualize the most efficient way to cut the wires for a project I'm making. It involves 29 LED strips grouped into 3 sections (12, 8, and 9) and they're all powered from a bus on the side. The question was how to cut the wires for the individual strips to have them line up in the most efficient way. By experimenting with this project, I found that the best way is to have all the points converge in the middle for each section.
