When Atari Mining Corp first sent miners out to the belt 40 years ago, their ships had those pathetic single-action laser cannons, which overheated after about three consecutive shots. And those ships had no inertial cutoffs either - no way to stop! It's amazing any of those guys lived to tell about it. But now our laser cannons are auto-repeaters, and they NEVER overheat. In fact, I'd recommend turning the darn thing on and just leaving it on all day. This is what we should have had on day one. It almost makes me feel sorry for the rocks. But not quite. Controls: arrow keys: up=thrust, left/right=turn, down=stop. "f" starts and stops firing. (But why stop?) "p" pauses and resumes the game. When paused, "s" shows the score list. Extra ships every 100,000; we wouldn't want it to be TOO easy. :-) When the game ends, toggle between "game over" and the top-10 list by clicking or hitting the space bar. Click the green flag to start the next game.
Jun 2019 - Top-10 list fixed! I've played once more and broken my old high score and it seems to correctly show that now. So... it think it works now? Jun 2019 - looks like there is a new problem with the top 10 list :-( Feb 2019 - fixed the top 10 list to use the new smaller cloud variables. I made all the artwork myself, but obviously imitated/improved bits from the original asteroids video game. REMEMBER TO HIT "F" WHEN YOU START!!! Unless your favorite game is dodge-ball. :-)
