Splashpaw ran along the moor. She had just become an apprentice, but she wasn't ready to train just yet. She needed to see the borders away from the strict gaze of her mentor, who was so restricting of thoughts. She couldn't believe that that cat loved anyone, ShadowClan or not ShadowClan, much less have kits with them. Of course, there are only rumors of what happened the day Hollyblaze disappeared. Splashpaw was born that day, but her mother, Speckleflight, was too worried about her sister to pay much attention to her two kits. She let Splashpaw's sibling die! Splashpaw wished Robinpelt were still alive, he would have been such a good parent compared to Speckleflight, who was too worried about her mother or sister to care. Spelckleflight and Hollyblaze were both born in RiverClan, but Hazelstar wanted to take hiscfair share of the kits. As soon as Speckleflight was old enough she joined WindClan. Her sister rose much faster than her. Now Birchfur was dying, and it seemed Splashpaw's mother had forgotten about her kit. Splashpaw stopped at the ShadowClan border. There was a border patrol, with Snowstar in the lead. Hollyblaze would hate her if Splashpaw got tangled up with Snowstar. Hollyblaze hated Snowstar. "I think something happened before I was born." Splashpaw thought. Splashpaw backed away from the border, turning to flee, but before she could, Snowstar's eerie voice rang out, clear and sharp, "What's a kit doing on our territory?" he asked eerily. "I'm not-" Splashpaw was cut off. Snowstar lifted her up by the scruff and threw her deep into ShadowClan territory. "What are you doing in our territory?" he repeated. "I-I," Splashpaw was cut off again. "I would give you something to remember me by, but you are a kit." Snowstar paused for a bit, as if thinking, and a devious grin grew on his face. "I'll have to take you back to WindClan camp. I don't want you running off again so, Aspentail, pick her up. Leafdung, Flowerdirt, bring up the rear." the cats nodded frantically. Splashpaw grimaced. "What terrible names!" she thought. A ginger she-cat with deep green eyes picked Splashpaw up by the scruff. Splashpaw tried to resist, but the seasoned warrior was too strong. Leafdung and Flowerdirt also obeyed Snowstar's orders. These cats looked a bit young to be warriors. They started walking, Snowstar in the lead, towards WindClan camp. Splashpaw caught a glimpse of an apprentice sized grey and white cat on the distant moor. She shook her head and it was gone. "Must just be a low hanging cloud," she told herself.
