Click the green flag to watch, and read the description below. The town of Elmside has been in existence since the 17th century. In the days of old, it used to be a town of merchants and trading, and it is still a trading town, but today it's better known for its prestigious schools and welcoming community. Throughout the history of the town, there has always been one building in Elmside that was held in higher regard than the others - the town hall, built in 1697. The town hall is situated just south of downtown Elmside, and you can see some of the town's tallest skyscrapers from the town hall, despite the fact that it only has three floors and a basement. The town hall is the official office of the current mayor of Elmside, Gerald Pierce, as well as the Parliament of Elmside and the town board. The first floor of the hall is mostly a museum devoted to the town's history, and the board's office is on that floor as well. The second floor is where the mayor's office is, as well as his drawing room where he meets with guests. Parliament also convenes on the second floor, and they mostly work in a room akin to the House and Senate chambers in the United States Capitol Building where they discuss laws and how the town should move forward. Sometimes, the mayor joins them, and Gerald Pierce is in fact the honorary head of Parliament as well as the mayor. The third floor is one giant memorabilia room, containing important relics that are too precious to be in the museum or currently being cleaned by a team of archaeologists. These archaeologists usually find the relics underground and bring them to the room to clean and display. If the relic is in high demand to be in the museum, the archaeologists meet with Mayor Pierce and Parliament and if both parties approve, they bring the relic down to the museum and put it in a high-security display case. The design of the town hall is based on ancient Greek culture, as it was built during the days of the Renaissance. It was constructed out of marble and had marble columns akin to many buildings in ancient Greece. Even though times have changed, the town hall has been the most important building in Elmside for more than three centuries, and it will most likely remain that way. Thanks for reading.
