only reason i didn't release this before is because of the infamous 'assets stolen any%' speedrunners but if you do see this it probably signals me not touching scratch again
song is bakemonogatari melody, though original artist seems to have been lost to time anyways, 'short' tangent on art and stuff. if you really want to earn respect making nice looking stuff, you *have* to spend the time to learn and make sprites yourself. anything that looks like a shortcut or an easy out (e.g. recoloring or outright stealing other's work) *will* come back to haunt you in the future, and often these shortcuts also teach you nothing about how to actually make good art of your own. i.e. using a bucket tool for 3 minutes teaches you nothing about how to use the vector editor to make a sprite art is an iterative process; every time you make something, you'll find things that you can improve upon, and you'll work those things into future works, which in turn will have their own things that you can improve upon. heck, these character sprites are the results of redoing base character models at least a dozen times, and I'd still say they're far from perfect. the only time i'd remotely condone using other's sprites is if you're more interested in something else (e.g. making an animation with the character in particular) *and* you have their permission, *and* give credit. but even then, if you add your own sprites to the mix, there'll be a clash in style and that can often just make things look worse overall. tl;dr just make your own things instead of recoloring or stealing, you develop your art skills that way and nobody gets mad, win win situation if you're like one of the 4 people on the internet to read my ramblings, congrats have a cookie (i don't have any cookies)
