If you can't tell I went with an Orca theme ! I adore dolphins and killer whales have always been my favorite. Killer Whale Facts Orcas are considered the largest species of the dolphin family. Orcas weigh up to 6 tons (5,443 kilograms) and grow to 23 to 32 feet (7 to 9.7 meters) The largest orca was 32 feet (9.8 m) long Orcas live in groups called pods that usually have around 40 members There are actually two different kinds of pods. A resident pod is less aggressive and prefers fish. Transient pods act much like wolf packs and are much more aggressive.They hunt larger marine mammals. Orcas are at the top of the food chain. Orcas can live from 50 to 100 years. Orcas use echolocation to communicate with each other and hunt. An orca's colors help them camouflage.
