▼▼▼ Hello guys! I’m well aware that I made one of these not too long ago, but I’ve been fidgeting around with stuff and- Well yeah, I kind of improved a tiny bit. So, here you all go, a detailed art process/tutorial thingy! :) Click to navigate, left side of the screen takes you to the previous slide and the right side of the screen takes you to the next. Pretty simple! ▼steps▼ 1- Sketch, making each “part” on a separate layer. I use Procreate, and I’ll mention the brushes I use from their library. Peppermint brush and 6B Pencil. These are both really good because they have nice pen pressure, I guess? 2- Lineart time! For this, I simply just go over my sketch with the Peppermint brush. I like it more than using a basic Syrup brush or Studio Pen because in my opinion, it just seems a little smoother. 3- Coloring! Put each color on a separate layer, and if you’re drawing a certain character, make sure to eyedrop to get the correct palette. 4/5- Hair. This is one of the most commonly liked things that I apparently do. It’s honestly quite simple. First, using a light pencil brush such as the Peppermint brush previously mentioned, line out these little sections on a new layer set to linear burn (Use just a darker, maybe more saturated tone of the hair color.) Pay close attention to where the character’s hair would realistically part. Next, slowly blend it in using a mix of the Peppermint and 6B pencil brush. Don’t be afraid to add and subtract little details and sections here and there. I also, on a clipping layer over my lineart colored over the hair areas to make it stand out a little more. 6- Eyes! I like to draw the pupils in first.. I later changed it to where the pupils weren’t completely black so it didn’t clash with the colored lineart anymore. 7- Just some little eye details. It adds a lot more life. 8/9- I like to add a little bit of texture to the clothing here and there so it doesn’t end up looking flat. 10- I like to add color and texture to faces as well; Such as blush. 11/12/13/14- Basic shading! Just use linear burn for this again, clipping layers, ect. :) Don’t be afraid to switch hues for each section too, sometimes a certain color can cause things to clash or look too dark. 15- Make a layer over your whole character. Using the select tool, select the entire thing. Use a soft brush such as the Soft Airbrush and lightly dust over some shading. Hues can vary, but I suggest using a cool color or a darker warm color. 16/17- Lighting! My light source here is coming from the top left, so I put most light points nearer to there. 18- Eye sparkles and lighting! This is optional, but I always do it because it can make a character look so much more alive. 19/20- Final touches, a little bit of a background and centering! I also added a small amount of blur and glow just to make my character stand out more. 21- Final product! You can click to zoom. I added a bit of a watermark here. ~Taking art without permission is bad, kids~ :thumbs up emoji: Well, that’s about all I have for now. I hope you guys enjoyed it! If you have any questions about art or something, don’t be afraid to ask. I’m not exactly a professional though, but yeah. :) ▼▼▼
