Day 3 of Video Game Design Today's Class was about how setting and story change the game. Pong (1972) and Mario Tennis Aces (2018) are almost 50 years apart, but they are essentially the same game, in terms of purpose and basic gameplay. The largest difference comes in the setting and the story of the characters in the game. This makes Mario a lot more fun and playable than "Pong". In our Scratch example, we made two versions of the same game, Chase, one with a story and one without. This version, based off of a soccer goalie chasing the ball around the field, is more interesting and playable than the other chase game, named Regular Chase 1.0
I used scratch basics that I learned from the scratch tutorials to create this game, and added my own story that incorporated soccer.
