Re-shared because I want people to see the animators that I've listed. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll answer them to the best of my ability! ~ Common Answers To Save Me Time: A1. I see your input, however, I'll be frank, I think you know that there is something off with your animating. Either it looks too robotic or it doesn't look right, but whatever it is it looks off and it's quite a glaring flaw and for that reason, I'm not gonna put you in the list... yet. Don't fret! Learning how to animate well doesn't take a day, but that's okay! Animating takes practice and a good way to do that is by ANALYSING at other GOOD animations on YouTube and learning certain principles in Animation. Videos I recommend are: - Alan Becker's 12 Principles of Animation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDqjIdI4bF4 - Zedrin's 7 Tips for Smoother Animation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVcZXW80GKA - Wimhurst's 3 Ways to Improve Your Animation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IIszTuH5gc Remember these videos are very general, however, perfecting fundamentals enables you to animate faster and better! Learn the basics then move onto the more intricate stuff, such as camera motion, composition, etc. A2. Please link a project that you think best represents your/that person's fullest animating capabilities. Faster for me to look and add you to the list! A3. It seems that you are posting a project for some feedback. Usually, I would just provide critical feedback as I did with all the other Scratchers in the comment section, however as I'm not bothered to spoonfeed you the general flaws of your animating and I fully believe that you have the capability and experience to analyse and see where you can improve in your own animations, I won't provide you with feedback. I will give some feedback later, but I'm just not in the mood right now. If you want to know how to analyse your own works, compare your own work with that of better animations, whether that be your favourite TV show or a post on Youtube. What do they do that you don't? Do they exaggerate the character's movements and emotions? Maybe they have the background animated just as well as the foreground? Maybe they use certain frames to sell a motion in their shot? (E.g. Impact frames) Maybe revise some of the basics in animating and refer to tutorials/tips from wiser animators. (NOT ONES ON SCRATCH ILL BE HONEST THEY ARE ALL GARBAGE COMPARED TO THE ONES ON YOUTUBE) Some good videos are listed above, however, if you are looking into some specific areas that you need improvement on, such as an action scene, or animating fire or water, search them up yourself! Good luck, young padawan. A4. I see that you have a MEME or MAP part or AMV as your example, but I see a number of things you can improve on. Mainly, you need to focus on certain elements when making those type of animations, but you shouldn’t limit yourself to what I just say. This is just a general list, and often, I see that these elements are what many animators can improve on. Sorry if it is very general though. There isn't a right way to make an animation, I'm just trying to give you some thoughts on how to make your animation better. Hopefully this does help! ~ Colour Palette Cold or warm colours? etc... How does your choice of colours fit the song? ~ Camera Angles Close up or wide shots? Dolly or static shots? etc. How does your choice of camera angles make the mood better? ~ Visual Cohesion Transitions, style consistency, etc... Can the audience follow your animation and understand what you’re animating? ~ Visual Metaphors Symbols Motifs Does your choice of visual elements make sense in animation’s context? ~ Song Does your animation fit the song's tone?

Description

Art is by me Music? Check inside for title From now on, I'm challenging myself to make 1 animation every month, starting in April. These animations will range in length (most of them will be short, but a few will be longer than usual), but one thing is for certain, I'll be animating different stuff for each one. Often when I see animations, they're dominated by the usual popular animators who publish decent animations consistently, but never try to experiment and expand their skillset. I wanted to make a list of animators that I consider as underrated. Note that this list is a subjective list and should be taken with a grain of salt. I consider an underrated animator to have: 1. Has a good understanding of key principles in animation. 2. Projects to prove their prowess. 3. A following which I believe should include more people in them. 4. Have a number of followers which I think is less than what they deserve. @Example ! - Best Animators. In the name. Their animations have a cinematic feel to them. @Example * - Cool Animations. They are creative and hardworking animators who go beyond what you think is possible on Scratch. @Example ^ - Inactive. They don't use the site as much as before. If you want to forcefully insert yourself into this list, just post a project in the comments and I'll have a look. In the meantime, procrastinate and scroll through each of these guys animations! ~ Underrated Animators List (Last Updated 14/8/2022) @Chase2006 * (Awesome use of sprite animations and camera movement!) @dynomike03* (Kinda crazy) @WebsOddments (Good art and animations!) @FoxyForever2005 * @RealSTICK * (Poggers character animator.
