Swiftkit was born in a way all kits were. Right through her mom. But, her mom told a different story. Not like Swiftkit believed it or anything. "You traveled from the stars, swiftly leaping down, of course, you wouldn't remember it." She had purred. Swiftkit had rolled her eyes and replied. "Mom! That's not true!" Her mom, Duskfeather had just purred and tutted, she had padded away. Her little Brother, Blurkit believed the story, but Swiftkit knew better. "But Swiftkit!" He complained. "It's true!" Swiftkit laughed. "No way!" Blurkit and Switkit had been play-fighting in the clearing when Mothbright padded into the clearing, her expression grim. "Swiftkit, Blurkit, come here." She called. Swiftkit frowned. "What is it?" Why would the medicine cat be talking to the two kits? They ran over to her. "What?" Blurkit asked, his blue-grey head cocking sideways. Mothbright took a deep breath and then straightened. "Your mom and dad have died because someone killed them, so... yeah." She said finishing lamely. Swiftkit's eyes widened, and her mouth dropped open. "No..." She whispered. "Pathmeadow and Duskfeather?!?" Mothbright nodded. "I'll get thyme for the shock." She hurried off. But Swiftkit barely heard her, she was in too much shock, and disbelief. "Their lying..." She hissed. "Swiftkit..." Blurkit told her sister Swiftkit turned away and ran off to the nursery. She couldn't take this death, her mom /and/ dad. When she and her brother were only a moon old. It made her think about her grandparents, and how they had died the day Swiftkit, and Blurkit were born. ClearPath had died beforehand, but her grandfather, Grainair had been really close to their dad, and when he passed away, he had grieved for a long time. It had only been a couple of days ago when his grief lifted completely, now he would never get to see his kits grow up. She curled up in her and Blurkit's nest and cried herself to sleep.
