This is a problem that was posed to me in a math class. "Six recruits line up for their first drill session. They are given the "Left Face" command. Nervous, one of them turns right instead of left. The recruit he is facing, also nervous, panics when he sees the recruit's face, and assumes he is wrong. He then turns right, and the first recruit, realizing his mistake, turns left. This trend continues, and the drill sergeant must wait until all the soldiers have stopped turning, in order to give the next command. If each turn takes exactly one second, how long will this take?" Click to choose the soldier to turns the wrong way. Watch as the scene unfolds.
This project was posed in SFU's MAT 190 class in 2007 by Bruce Kadonoff. The characters (Beetle Bailey and Sgt. Snorkel) are Mort Walker's, and while I got the Sarge sprite from a comic strip, I used the Beetle Bailey sprite from a website
