please please please view in fullscreen! After a lot of procrastination, I present to you the ShardWings, the third tribe of Pomona! I decided to do something a bit different for this project, and created a full ref of the species instead of just a bust. Press space to switch slides, and click to zoom in! I've covered most of the information in this ref, read below for the rest, and if you have questions ask! - ShardWings, like the rest of the Pomonan dragons, are wyverns, meaning they lack front legs and use their wings as a more efficient form of transportation. - They are known as the most fierce tribe despite the peace throughout the continent. They tend to keep to themselves, but if threatened will not hesitate to defend themselves. They're not ruthless killers, but will give the dragon in question a few scratches to remember them by. - They have extremely sharp claws and teeth, a good advantage while hunting or in combat. - Their scales are tough like diamond and quite difficult to penetrate unless struck between scales or on their soft underbelly. - Also like cave-dwelling animals, spend a lot of their time in underground ponds or streams, and can hold their breath longer than the average dragon, though they can't breathe underwater. - Have excellent night vision away from their caves as they're adapted to living in darkness. - Since they don't leave their caves very often, ShardWings don't care much about appearance living in the dark, rarely wearing accessories or fixing themselves up unless temporarily leaving their home for some reason. - They tend to be a bit disregarded by other tribes, as their habitat leads them to be somewhat isolated from the rest of the continent, other tribes rarely have interactions with them, and they're the only tribe without royalty. - ShardWings live in both underground and aboveground tunnels and caverns. - There's a 1 in 3 chance of ShardWings being born blind, as many cave-dwelling animals are, since their habitat is usually pitch black. It doesn't cause much of a disadvantage unless they're away from the caverns. - ShardWings tend to have dark-colored (but still tinted) scales with crystal-colored accents on their spikes and bright eyes. - ShardWings are named after crystals, minerals, and precious gems (Topaz, Amber, Geode, etc.) [more information will be coming soon]
