Act one. Scene l : MINDY's, JESSIE's, PHOEBIE's, and BELLA's room. Alarm goes off at 7 AM, but all four sleep in a hour later. MINDY: It's 8, I guess I should get up. (She rubs her eyes and gets out of bed, walking to JESSIE's bed.) JESSIE: What? MINDY: It's 8. We all accidentally slept in. JESSIE: (Sits up quickly) Oh boy, y'all! I'm getting to go home! PHEOBIE: (Wakes up due to JESSIE yelling.) I'm sooo tired. Do I really have to get ready? Say it isn't so! MINDY: I'm afraid so. BELLA: (Woken up, but sits up.) Least I get to see my family. Let's hurry up so we can catch up with everybody else! Scene ll: (The 4 girls go down to the main entrance/lounge of the hotel) PHEOBIE: Where is the rest of the school? MINDY: Are we possibly early, and they're late? JESSIE: Mrs. Vandigriff said be here at 7:30! Oh god, y'all. I don't think we're early! (Frantically pulls out her phone and pulls up Snapchat.) JESSIE: Chantelle already posted to her story about leaving. (Shows everybody.) (Everyone looks puzzled.) Bella: (Pulls out her phone and checks her Snapchat.) It's not jut hers. It's everyone in our grade who has a account. MINDY: Could it be from when we showed up here? JESSIE: No, dimwit. They said they were excited to come home. (Crosses arms) PHOEBIE: Are you kidding me? BELLA: Need more proof? (Shows more posts and stories to the others.) JESSIE: I could be back home doing target practice. Nope! I'm in France with Tweedle Dumb, Tweedle Dumber, and Tweedle Dumbest. (Points to BELLA, then PHOEBIE, then MINDY.) PHOEBIE: (Rolls her eyes, and mumbles.) There should be a picture of you next to the definition of stupid, ignoble hick... MINDY: Guys, what do we do? We can't stay here, we don't have money to. Bella: (Whispers inaudibly) Great, I'm stuck in Paris with 3 people that I don't even know.. PHOEBIE: Guys, seriously. What're we gonna do? JESSIE: Finna cuss out the lady at the desk. Ain't our fault we're here. Ask 'em to charge the school. MINDY: Ugh. Could you be a little less extra? HOTEL WORKER: I'm sorry. You girls will have to leave. You were supposed to check out earlier.. (All 4 go outside.) JESSIE: Y'all've dunnit! I can't stand being here with any of you. It's all yall's fault! PHOEBIE: How? JESSIE: Last time I remembered YOU were supposed to wake us up. Your fault! PHOEBIE: Ugh! JESSIE: Mindy woke up at 8. If she woke me up I woulda hollered earlier! MINDY: It is equally all our fault. JESSIE: Y'all know I sleep like a rock. MINDY: You weigh one, too. JESSIE: Oooh! Y'all team up on me like i'm the bad guy! BELLA: Guys! Please stop, we need to think of a plan. JESSIE: My turn! Oh look, the little shy girl can now speak! PHOEBIE: She could always speak. JESSIE: (Rolls eyes) Whatever. MINDY: Okay Jessie genius, what're we gonna do? JESSIE: I don't mind bummin' out in an alleyway somewhere and catch the next flight. We got our tickets. PHOEBIE: It's sad the eldest of us is the dumbest. What alley? Where?! BELLA: Hey, maybe we can ask for help? MINDY: I don't think anybody will help. People are rude here. BELLA: Okay, maybe not.. PHOEBIE: You can sing, right, Bella? Bella: Yeah? Why? PHEOBIE: Why don't we try to earn up money for a cheap room somewhere? MINDY: It's so crazy, it just might work. JESSIE: Yeah, it just might. Um, where are we going to get instruments? PHOEBIE: Buy them with what we have left. Act two. Scene l (The girls set up in a busy street with shops and people.) BELLA: Oh, boy. I'm a tad nervous. MINDY: It'll be alright. Just start singing when Jessie ques us off. JESSIE: Alright, y'all! 1, 2, 3, play! Scene ll (The girls play until sundown. They earn roughly 95 euros.) PHOEBIE: Nice! Now lets get that hotel. JESSIE: How much is that in dollars? (All shrug) BELLA: Wait, guys! We're not fighting anymore. (She smiles) MINDY: Yeah, you're right. Nobody's called Jessie a uneducated hick with no grandparents for one whole act! (Start to play To Be Continued meme song) JESSIE: What did you say about my family?
