Description

Made for Getting Unstuck 2020 Day 5 Prompt: create a project that uses the touching colour sensing blocks Music: Lalo Schifrin - Mission Impossible (Music from Original TV Series) Reflection: Lots of people around me today (friends, work colleagues and a neighbour who stopped to chat while I was out walking) were talking about secrets and surprises. They mentioned curious secret projects they could not discuss or wonderful surprises for friends. This inspired me to use spies and secret missions as a storyline idea for today's project. I thought the agent could decide to cut a certain coloured wire to make something happen, to fit in with the 'touching colour' blocks prompt. I had just the right music for a spy mission in mind too! I decided to make it into a game, as this music would be good for adding some tension. Also, I normally choose making animations over games, and wanted to try making something different. My code is left very messy. I made up the rest of the story as I went along, so the code just evolved and I didn't really try to tidy it. Somehow I ended up triggering almost everything by changing the backdrop, where I would usually use message blocks. This just happened, I think because the backdrops were the first thing I chose. I used clones in three different places today, and have not used these a lot in projects before. So just guessed at some code as a starting point and then played until they looked right. By the end I was really pleased I had chosen to create a game and enjoyed testing it out. Liked that there's an element of chance, so I could play without knowing which wire is safe to cut. Feel proud of this one now! Have fun secret agents :D
