Instructions

You know when you’re having a good day? Like a really good day? Everything is going well for you? But then it goes all, well, like dog poop. I’m having one of those days. But instead of dog poop, it’s more like the grim reaper came up to the train station and is about to kill a little boy. Ya. I’m having one of those. I probably shouldn’t be so calm about this. Why am I so calm about this? I should be screaming. That’s what you should do when you see a little boy on train tracks with the train driver blowing his horn and howling ‘Full speed ahead!’ I’m frozen in fear. Where is the mother? This is her problem. Not mine. Wait, It is my problem. I’m about to watch the death of a 3 year old boy. I can already imagine the obituary, and the headlines. ‘Boy gets Run Over by Train’ ‘Train Conductor gets Charged in Court’ ‘Train Wreck Accident! Except… Maybe it wasn’t an Accident.’ But it wouldn’t be my fault… would it? Have you ever watched a train speeding towards where a little boy sat playing with his dinosaur toys? Probably not. But you could probably guess that it’s pretty nerve racking. This reminds me of that famous trolly problem. I saw a show once where they actually tested if people would pull the lever. You probably don’t know what I’m talking about. I don’t really ethier. I start running. It’s about time! I run. I run. Run. Run. Run faster. Runrunrunrunrun. Ruuuuuuuuun! Run. RUN. Runrunrunrunrunrunrun. Later "Thank you!" The mom can't stop thanking me. She thanks me another thousand times, then hands me 50 dollars. "Hopefully that'll prompt you to do more good in the world." She smiles.
