This project started out as something totally different. As I worked on that, the use of the "touching color..." blocks became less central to the final product. So saved what I was doing with that other project, and started this. When to walk away from something is sometimes a hard lesson to teach students, and a hard piece of advice to give as a teacher. I want to encourage them to persevere through difficulties. Wrestling with challenges makes us better problem solvers. But it is undeniable that sometimes a project's difficulty is a dead end and has become so hopelessly muddled that the best thing to do is start again. Here I have experimented with random music generation. A sprite bounces around the screen and as it touches the colors of this Monet painting different notes are played. I used the "eye dropper" tool to select colors from the painting. It is amazing to see the variety of colors in there. This is far from the most sophisticated project I have put together, but it is interesting to listen for the differences in the "music" played when the moving sprite starts off at different angles and positions.
