She was born from dying birdsong, which is why she’s blue, and not gold. Short story: Beams of silver moonlight scattered across the high tips of the tall grass, bathing the hillside in an eerie fog. A small form snaked it’s way through the brush, icy eyes scanning the territory ahead. The tall grass faded away, and from the rushes stepped out a feline figure, clothed in blue color, eyes reflecting the moonlight. She looked a little further. There it was. Cadence, her oldest sister, had sent poor Harmony to go fetch nightshade. The festival was to be tonight, and Harmony was sure she was already late. Harmony squished her body down and leapt don to hillside after the nightshade, as if it would’ve gotten away. Plucking the flower with her teeth, Harmony sprinted back up the hillside and off towards the mountain trail, desperately hoping she would make it home in time. Partway through the trail, the nightshade stem had begun to taste sour in her mouth, and her paws ached from the gravel trail. She spat out the flower and sat down for a moment, catching her breath. She lowered herself all the way ‘til her chin was on the ground, and yawned. Suddenly, sleepiness surrounded her and she curled up, resolving to only sleep for a few minutes.... When Harmony awoke, he stretched her back, shook pebbles out of her tail, and yawned. Wait, where was the nightshade!? Harmony finished waking up with a start and she frantically searched around, but it was gone. Harmony paced side to side, anxious. Her sister was going to freak out! “Harmony! Goodness where are you?!” A voice called. Harmony, overwhelmed with depression, walked drearily to her sister, to whom the vice belonged, burying her face in her fur. “Harmony! You were gone all night! Where have you been?!” But Harmony just cried into her sister’s pelt. She’d ruined the festival. Everything was all. Her. Fault. Cadence creased her brow and hugged her sister close. “There there... it’s okay...” “But... I wrecked the festival!” “No! We all care about you. When you went missing we postponed it til tomorrow. Everyone is worried.” “R-really?” “Don’t worry. Everything will be alright.” BAHM BAHM BAHM I wrote a detailed story. Yay.
