Word Count: 3174 【i】A little background into the story:【i】 I’ve always thought of animus powers in the wings of fire series to be a metaphor for free-choice, and had the idea to implement that in this story. When Voidchaser looses control over his animus powers, he looses the ability of free-choice to either use the powers or not use them, and what to do with them. He tries to combat his guilt and dark feelings by inventing the character “Dreamstalker” as a way to shift and understand the blame when he’s unable to find the source and reason of all his negative emotions. But in doing this, Voidchaser becomes a slave to his guilt and to the power to act that is no longer his to command. 【i】"Tics" and Tourettes【i】 Void has what he's known by his mother's name of "Tics". This aspect of his character was influenced by a very close friend of mine. Though it's never specified in-story, Void has Tourettes Syndrome. Tourettes and other sorts of Tic disorders are neurological conditions in which someone has involuntary (Uncontrolled) patterned and repetitive movements and sounds. Motor Tics are where someone has a twitch or jerking movement. Vocal Tics are sometimes less-noticeable gurgling or "clearing the throat" noises, but can be as far as repeating the same sentence over and over, or even repeating something that someone else has said.
