Langton's Ant paints in two colors whereas Dewdney's Tur-mite paints in four colors. Tur-mite Rules If on black square, paint red, turn left 90º, move 2 steps If on red square, paint green, turn right 90º, move 2 steps If on green square, paint yellow, turn right 90º, move 2 steps If on yellow square, paint black, turn left 90º, move 2 steps As A. K. Dewdney and others have pointed out, a tur-mite and Langton's ant are two-dimensional Turing machines.
