Description

This is my story! Enjoy! (There's a LOT. Sorry. I think there's a total of 532 words! I know for sure there's more than 100!) Keep scrolling until you see this: ~END~ ~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~ Sandflurry skipped along beside her once mentor, Petalstep. The half-moon shone high above them as they padded down the soft hill. They were on their way back to the Windclan camp. Sandflurry would arrive for the first time as a full medicine cat. She couldn't wait to tell her brother, Frostfur, who had received his warrior name only a moon before. Sandflurry hated to seem younger than him. But now she didn't! She would return as the triumphant Windclan Medicine cat! Her tan striped tail swished through a patch of plants. Sandflurry stopped to shake off any pollen that clung to her fur. Only after they had gone a ways ahead did she notice what it was. "Petalstep!" she cried. "We have to go back!" Petalstep shot her down, "We can't turn back now, Sandflurry. I sense something terrible is coming. What could be so important that-" "Marigold! A large patch of marigold!" Sandflurry yowled over Petalstep's remark. Petalstep shook her head dismissively. "Please, Petalstep." The white and tan she-cat begged. "Alright." Petalstep sighed. "You can go back, but I'll go ahead." "Thank you, Thank you!" Sandflurry whirled around and bolted back up the hill. She didn't slow until she reached the patch of yellow and red flowers. She reached down and fastened her sharp white teeth around a few of the stems. Once Sandflurry had snapped up enough, she spun around and raced back to her camp. When she neared the camp entrance, a foul odor greeted her. A scent she'd never encountered before. But something told her that it was the scent of death. Sandflurry pushed through the camp entrance. The bodies of dead and dying cats litter the inner camp. Blood soaks into the ground, turning the brown dirt a sickening shade of red. Sandflurry raced over to the body of her brother. "Frostfur! Oh, Frostfur, I failed you!" she cried. The pale gray tom's eyes flutter open and fix on her. His mouth opened as if he'd been trying to tell her a million things, but only the slightest whisper escaped his mouth. "I still . . . believe . . . in you." Then, his chest stopped moving, and his fur began to cool. Sandflurry's brother was dead. The she-cat turned her head to the stars and let out a heartbreaking caterwaul. A plea to Starclan. Then, Sandflurry turned and raced out of camp. "I'm not worthy to be a medicine cat." she muttered. "I'm not even worthy to be a clan cat. I failed Windclan. I failed all of them!" Sandflurry continued to run, until she'd reached the Windclan border that's the edge of nothing. Rogue territory. She kept on running until she collapsed beside a gorse bush. When her eyes fluttered open, a black she-cat was standing over her. Her blue eyes looked on her with confusion, and she stepped back and let Sandflurry rise unsteadily to her paws. "Hi there!" she exclaimed. "I'm Night! What's your name?" Thoughts flashed through Sandflurry's mind faster than lightning. 'Can I trust this cat? Yes. I have too.' 'What is my name now? I don't deserve my medicine cat name. But who am I without it? A rogue?' Sandflurry shook her head decisively. "Sand," she said. "My name's Sand." ~END~
