Instructions

I am THE CORE of GSE ++. I am CREATED by a young Scratcher, just like you. I am A SUPER PROCESSOR, processing 100s of objects in a map. I am THE HELP YOU NEED in creating a Sonic fan-game, I. AM. MOE. Hello, world! This is my latest release of one of the most developed parts of Genesis Sonic Engine ++! It is called My Object Engine, or MOE for short. So what is GSE++, and why should you care about it? Genesis Sonic Engine ++ is a tool that people will (Oh, did I say WILL? Uhh, MIGHT) be able to use to create their own Sonic games. The original GSE was a great step towards people being able to make Sonic games, with some pretty good Sonic physics. But the problem is that the engine doesn't process objects from the games like rings, Badniks, or loops. People have made their own projects before that had some of these, but coding maps like this by hand is not only time-consuming but can also not work at times. My solution? MOE. It can process tons of objects, and now it can even exceed the clone limit of 500 objects! How can one test this? Well, the way I did was to make a huge map full of rings! I just ran Sonic through it with my ring spawner code and poof! It's done! This is no trick. This IS a giant map with 600 something rings in it. Now, some of you may wonder why I say it is near completion, not finally done. This is because of one simple thing. Map compiling. I have to figure out how to efficiently store this map into a project with several other maps. This is where my trouble has begun. Again, it's partially because of one of the ST's decisions. The join limit. Any string using the join block can only have a certain number of letters. I need to find a way to work around this limit so I can compile large maps. Currently, there's a sprite called COMPILE with basically nothing in it. This is not the current state of the compiler, but I removed the code from this copy. I hope sometime I'll crack that code! That's all for this update! Until, of course, I update my update... --UPDATE 4/21/2017-- Hello again, world! I just updated this so it has the latest version of my broken compiler code. It's complete, it just doesn't work. Compiler in-game is currently disabled, as it breaks the map. Original GSE Instructions: Instructions are in game. Following is an update log: Version 1.3 (10th September, 2015) - Sonic can enter rolling a tad earlier and ends rolling a tad later Version 1.2 (6th September, 2015) - Spindash added - Improved ground collision to detect very thin platforms - Improved launching jump collision - Fixed low speed horizontal rotation animation bug - Fixed static animation bug Version 1.1 (5th September, 2015) - Slightly extended level map to test more extreme inclines - Fixed jumping animation bug - Faded, resetting start screen Version 1.0 (31st August, 2015) - Project released
