Polybius is an internet urban legend revolving around a mysterious arcade game cabinet developed in the 1980s. It states that in the suburbs of Portland, Oregon in 1981, a rare, ominous game cabinet appeared in several arcades. The game became an instant success, though only known in Portland. Long lines were set up simply to play this hit game called "Polybius". However, the game appeared to have dark side effects to it. Several players experienced seizures from the intense flashing lights, others developed headaches. It was also reported that [DATA EXPUNGED]. However, after a month since its release, it was removed from the arcades once a lawsuit was threatened. It is unknown if the game truly existed, or if it still exists. Ideas have sprouted that Polybius was involved with MKUltra, an actual secret government study on hallucinogens and mind control using unwilling test subjects.
