My ocs have been in desperate need of redesigns for a while now, and with Biohazardia coming out with Wings of Fire bases, I decided now would be the perfect time! Space or click to switch references. Commentary is welcome, so tell me what you think! 1. Macaw! I've always loved his character, but could never decide on a decent design for him. His most recent one was a weird rainbow, which was hard to replicate and looked kinda blinding. I decided to base his colors only somewhat after a macaw, and leave the rest up to me. I'm actually really happy with how he turned out, especially the wing gradient! 2. Fennec! This guy is a Rain/Sand hybrid, and I wanted to make it visible. He's more SandWing, so I mainly based his colors off of this with hints of yellow, blue, and green. His old ref looked like some weird lizard, so this was a big improvement! 3. Mako!! I've never been super happy with his ref, as he always looked too dull or too saturated. With this reboot, I made him right in the middle! I colorpicked shades of blue from an actual mako shark, with accents of green inherited from his father, Stingray. I've also decided that he probably has some RainWing ancestry further back in his family tree because of the way his color palette looks. 4. My girl Peppermint! She's currently my main oc, so I decided to give her a good reboot! Her design hasn't changed significantly, but I did a slight white gradient on her wings to make her more IceWing, as well as make her less saturated. I just realized I've never made a fullbody ref for her lol 5. Last but definitely not least, Solstice! She was originally part NightWing, but I scrapped the idea since I already had two hybrids. Anyway, her old design was super saturated and bad to look at, and I fixed that with this update. I'm really happy with how she turned out, as she was the first of these five characters that I came up with! Anyway, I might add more refs for other characters as I develop them more, but I thought I'd start with my mains! No, I haven't quit Dragons of Pomona, I've just been taking a break to do some coloring! The next project will come out in the next few days.
