(Sorry for not posting anything until today, Just got over Art Block ;w;) So...….Every so often while working on projects or in my free time, I'll shiny hunt, and recently I started hunting full odds (Without the shiny charm or any methods to increase your odds, basically a 1/4096 chance) But recently (almost a month ago XD) I started a new game in ultra sun and started soft reseting for a shiny starter, a popplio. Well out of all my full odds hunts, of course the hunt for a starter had to be the longest...….Let me explain. So far, I've been soft reseting for 4 weeks, and I stopped counting the number of SR's around 2 days ago because I was tired of it. I stopped counting at around 4100 SR's, which is over the odds, along with that, the cutscene that plays when you pick a starter is two minutes, which adds up quickly when you Soft reset thousands of times! I've been doing everthing I can to speed the hunt up, fast text speed, L=A button, multitasking, etc. But I swear this hunt seems endless XD I've watched several shiny hunters get popplios in ultra sun/ ultra moon within 100 SR's and yet I'm here with 4100+ SR's...…;w; At this point I've continued hunting because I want the 4 wasted weeks to be worth it, and I'm not leaving empty handed, I may sound persistent, but I'm just stubborn. I wanted to do a shiny run in ultra sun and record/ draw all My accomplishments and hunts, yet I can't. Not until I get the darn popplio. Another issue with this hunt is popplio's shiny. I love simplistic shinies, and popplio's shiny is just that, darker purple-ish blue with a pale pink collar. But the problem is, when night comes in game, The sprites turn slightly darker, and so I have to spend like 30 seconds making sure the popplio I'm Soft reseting over isn't a shiny. That makes this even more long......So why would I do this in the first place? Well I wanted to play through the game with a shiny starter and I've started to see full-odds hunting as a more "rewarding" kind of thing, I still enjoy dex nav chaining, masuda methods, and sos chaining, but if I used the masuda method to hunt, I would have to replace my starter with the shiny. Anyways, My point is, do any shiny hunts you want to in ultra sun and moon but....not this one. Goodness not this one X3 If I do get the shiny, I'll make a project saying that I did, and I hope to share more shiny-hunting related projects in the future.....but for now, I've lost my sanity over a discolored sea lion.
