[click, touch, or press space] ~~~ I wanted to share this poem about Eric Garner by Ross Gay, "a small needful fact." For me, this poem contrasts small moments of beauty from Garner's life, with the cruelty of his death in 2014. Like George Floyd in 2020, Eric Garner also couldn't breathe. I'm making this project as a non-Black, Asian person on the Scratch team. I have been carrying anger and grief and thinking a lot about the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, Nina Pop, and so many others. How does the poem make you feel?
