Instructions

MIRIAM // FEMALE // PELICAN EEL // MIDNIGHT // NONE (training to be a healer of some sort) // AVERAGE // SWIRL // COPPER // LARGE/DILATED (uncommon) // NONE // LOP // (n) TOTAL: 4 Common, 1 Uncommon, 1 Rare (apologies if I got any of those numbers wrong) "I may not be the prettiest fish in the sea, but at least that isn't what I have to be." Miriam was always a quiet, reserved Nautifluff from the very start. Even though she's still a young teen (relatively speaking), she doesn't have any desire to go out and chase adventure. Instead of exploring the very lowest depths of the ocean, Miriam would much rather stay within the Midnight Kingdom's system of tunnels. She's actually very fond of them, and they give her a feeling of safety and security, similarly to small rooms. She's shy and softly-spoken, and generally prefers to be on her own. However, she's very gentle, and could never even think of attacking another Nautifluff, even if she is a carnivore.Unfortunately, this also makes her rather submissive, and she'd rather just bow her head and take whatever she's being put through without even considering standing up for herself. Miriam is far from the most beautiful Nautifluff out there, with her underbite, green patches of fur, large pupils, and eel tail, but she generally tries to ignore things that others say about her appearance. After all, she likes to think that looks don't mean much in the darkest part of the ocean.

Description

~@Cinderquin- for the species ~The song is "Fera Fashions" from Fer.al For this Nautifluff, I kinda want to go against the general trends and make a less traditionally "pretty" character. Not all of the fish in the sea have shimmery scales or fancy-looking patterns, and I figured the pelican eel would work well to kind of subvert some typical expectations of these characters. The main reason I picked the pelican eel in particular was because I really fell in love with the Midnight Kingdom's tunnel system (I adore the concept of tunnel systems in general for fiction <3), and also really wanted to make an eel character. I wasn't able to find too many deep-sea eels besides the pelican eel, but I still thought I could have fun with the head structure a bit. Her mouth was originally going to be a bit longer, but I still made her snout a bit longer instead to allude to the animal she was based on, in addition to her underbite partially referring to the pelican eel's... *interesting* jaws. So, yeah, that's about it! And just like with Luster, I'm already attached to her- Come to think of it, she's kinda the polar opposite of Luster; they're even in the top and bottom zones of the ocean, separated by miles and miles of water :O
