Instructions

(Click sprite for next drawing) Concept art of the boi, in order of when I made them. Probably the most designs for a character I have made before I found one I liked. Yeee Final design: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/402929940/fullscreen/ Little warning I though I should add just in case is that in 2 and 5 the skel is neked. Is just a pelvis, but some peeps might not be chill with that so. Yeah. 1. First sketches I made of him. I already knew I wanted to incorporate bug mandibles in his design, 'cuz I thought it would be cool. Originally he had 5 eyes like Muffet, but I liked the 4 ones better. Also was trying out different designs for the markings. I though the spider web pattern was neat but it didn't really work??? I dunno jus didn't like it. 2. I started getting real attached to the idea of spider floof so I drew one of the floof on the chest only and also around the shoulders to see what looked better. Shoulder floof won. Also trying to figure out how the heck his arms work. Also something I'm gonna mention is that his leg anatomy is based on a Veloceraptor leg. I just yeeted the hook claw and that was it. The more you know. 3. Possible clothing design. At this point he still had only one pair of legs with the 3 sets of arms. I didn't like the clothes through, so I ended up drawing a few others. Which leads us to #4... 4. Jus another clothing design. At this point I was kinda getting frustrated with the clothes and was seriously contemplating no clothes at all and just let him be a feral boi. That is, until Ink himself blessed me with a Thought... 5. I felt like he wasn't "spider-y" enough looking and tried messing around with the legs. What about 2 sets of legs and 2 sets of arms? The anatomy killed me though, in reality the back legs wouldn't work at all but at that point I was like "The hell with it. It's magic." But despite this I really like how he turned out. Also drawing 4 arms instead of 6 is way easier. 6. 'nother outfit. Didn't even bother coloring it at that point, but you can see where his current outfit was starting to surface. I liked the idea of a hood and was very much vibin with the loinscloth thingy for the legs. He is to feral for pants. Also he looks like a nun in this. 7. Finally, the boi in all his glory. Well, almost. I used this as a base for the ref and just traced it, but some very small modifications where made during this, like with the strings. Also I made the front fabric part a little more on center, and I think the belt was changed a little. Oh and the arms of course. (If you read all this, kudos to you.)
