I padded out of the nursery. I wasn't excited. I mean, I should've been. It was my apprentice ceremony. Along with Flowerkit's. I turned away from my mom, Bluesky. She was trying to wash me. "Mom!" I complained. "Get off of me!" Bluesky turned to Flowerkit, who didn't complain. Thitslestar jumped on the rock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, join me beneath the Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" Flowerkit turned to me, her eyes shining with excitement. "We are today!" She purred. I didn't care. Me and Flowerkit surged forwards, and we sat down. Thitslestar didn't smile. "From this day on, you shall be known as Flowerpaw." He announced. "Your mentor will be Darkheart." Darkheart padded forwards, and he touched noses with his new apprentice. Thitslestar turns to me. "From this day on, you shall be known as Barkpaw, your mentor shall be Alderfang." Alderfang padded forward. I didn't want to touch noses with her, and nor did she want to touch noses with me. We were even. I padded away from her, and to my new den after they had stopped chanting my name. It was annoying, that way they did it over and over. I had almost flattened my ears, but I knew better. I curled up, already knowing the territory from my many visits into it. I had never gotten caught, and I ignored my mentor's call.
