So basically, Lightkit is an albino cat. Albino meaning his pigment is all off, which is why his eyes look like he just went swimming in a chlorinated pool for a few hours without googles. Another downside to being albino is that Lightkit has very poor eyesight and depth perception. Because of his disabilities, Lightkit is essentially useless to Dawnclan for lack of a better word. Without proper eyesight and depth perception, Lightkit/paw can never learn to fight, hunt, or go on border patrols. I have just created the most uselessly pure cinnamon roll ever. You're welcome.
