Instructions

NOTE: This isn't my best work. It’s also not too much of a TRUE role-playing game since it’s mostly just battles. My favorite character in the Toy Story franchise is Slinky Dog, but unfortunately, he has never had a chance to be a major character, so I gave him a chance by making a role-playing game with him as the protagonist! (scroll down for more) STORY: Woody and Buzz have gone missing, and Slinky Dog decides to go on a mission to find them. It turns out that they have been captured by the Evil Emperor Zurg. INSTRUCTIONS: Use the left, right, up, and down arrow keys to move. Press the spacebar to perform a stretch-attack. Press A to do a tail-attack. Press the B button while standing near characters to talk to them. Use your map to instantly warp to places you've already visited. BATTLE INSTRUCTIONS: You and the enemy take turns attacking. Choose which attack you'd like to perform. When you perform an attack, a certain amount of power is required to be used depending on how strong the attack is (the two standard attacks don't require any power, the boomerang requires three power points, the electric zapper requires 5, and to restore some of your health, you need 2). If you don't have enough power, you can't perform special moves. Also, when an enemy attacks you, you will lose some health. If you run out of health, you'll get a game over. You will then need to restart the game. If you are low on health, you can use the "restore health" button to restore 5 health points, however, it will take two power points. Please read the notes and credits for more info.

Description

Check out this awesome project! https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/843414796/ Based on Pixar's Toy Story franchise. Gameplay based on Nintendo's Paper Mario series. So I wanted to make a Paper Mario-esque game, and I wanted to make something with Slinky as the main character, so I did both in one project! All of the sprites in the game were drawn by me (except for the heart; that was taken from Scratch's sprite library, although I edited it a little for this game). I created all of the character sprites by tracing images of the characters (Slinky is the only exception; I did use a picture of him for reference, which I traced to create the picture of him on the thumbnail. I also created the zurgbot sprites without any images). I also drew all of the backgrounds (the stars in Andy's Room were also taken from the sprite library). The songs in this game are all from Mario games. I mean, there's not really much else I could use as music. These are the songs that I used: Andy's Room - Paper Mario "March Ahead" Sandy Desert - Super Mario 3D Land "Desert Theme" Iceberg Land - Super Mario Galaxy "Freezeflame Galaxy (Ice)" Treacherous Jungle - New Super Mario Bros. "World 4 Map" The Sky - New Super Mario Bros. Wii "World 7 Map" Zurg's Planet - Super Mario 3D Land "World 8 (Part 2)" Battle - Super Mario Galaxy "King Kaliente" Credits - Super Mario 3D World "World 6 Map" The story takes place after Toy Story 2, but before Toy Story 3, so the toys are still with Andy. Try not to hold down B when you press it to see the next text box since it might cause a glitch where the text will show again after it's done. I don't know how to fix it, so try to press B quickly. Note that the stretch attack and tail attack don't serve any purpose in normal gameplay, but I left them in because I added them back when I had just started the game and removing them might mess up the code.
