These kitties are Shimmer(The white one) and Flame(The brown one). Shimmer is a member of a "higher order" per se, and when she met Flame, she realized she liked him. So, she asked her leader to let him join their group of powerful warriors despite showing no magical talents. The leader decides he can join if he can make it to their island paradise without help, but it's a long way to swim, and the water is deep, with magic and monsters guarding the place of the magic cats. Flame does make it though, 'cause I wanted it to be a happy ending. :)
