Characters- Lia- Welcoming, kind, caring, compassionate, gentle. She is a bit shy but becomes more confident in the end. She is the daughter of the leader of the land. They are not supposed to share their fruits or produce with anyone not from the Mokualo village with anyone else, not even others on their Island. They people are generally selfish, but when Lia sees people ship-wrecked on a Mokualo beach, she secretly takes them in and gives them what they need to survive from her own garden. She is scared and timid of other people at first. However, when the people ship-wrecked regain their strength, she realizes the power of being kind no matter the situation. She was very scared at the shipwreck. Jocelyn- A a little-bit too crazy city girl on a boating trip in the ocean with some other people on a trip. She is outgoing, adventurous, and wild. She is the only one who was not able to get into and escape pod because she was too busy using her phone. She was very scared TO BE NAMED LATER- He is Lia’s cousin, but they don’t get along he is kind of selfish. When Lia’s family notices she seems different and to be hiding something, so they get him to find out why. He notices she is different too. At first, he pretends to be nice to get her to tell her secret, but then he becomes kinder and nicer and realizes what he was doing wrong. He then Helps Lia help the others. Setting-At the start, the sky is bright and happy. There is a party going on. Then a wind blows through, surprisingly cold for a tropical island. The sky goes dark, and Lia finds herself wondering off as it starts to rain. It just gets darker as she realizes that people have been ship-wrecked. It gets brighter as she realizes she could help them, then gets misty when she realizes she is not allowed. When she finds a way the sun shines briefly again, but when she has to sneak food, she feels everything is watching her, all the plants as a wind surges through and sends a chill down her spine. It is dark. Everyone is wondering what is going on. However, each day Lia helps the others, it gets a little brighter. It gets very dark when people try to spy on Lia and find out what she’s doing and try to capture her in the end. However, when they see the people, she and later TBNL helped, they realize what they should have done all along and learn to be generous. More characters: Chief Chief's assistant Villagers People stealing food Conflict- Character vs. Self- Lia wonders if what she is doing is really right. She is afraid. TBNL has character vs. Self conflict when he tries to figure out whether to report Lia. Character vs. Society- Lia must go against society’s rules in order to do what is right. Theme- The theme is kindness, generosity, and doing what is right no matter what others say. Plot- There is a party to kick off the sunny season. However, a surprising cold chill goes through and dark clouds come over. Lia gets worried and finds herself wandering around her village. She hears a sound and cautiously looks to it. She finds Jocelyn and a small wrecked escape boat. She knows she needs help. She goes back to the party, but then overhears her father talking about how they were no longer permitted to trade to outside groups, because their own food and resources are running low. She has been growing her own precious garden of rare fruits and decides to give Jocelyn them. Soon she runs out and has to bring extra things from her dinner to them. Her parents notice something seems off and sends her cousin to investigate. His cousin goes to find out what is going on and get Lia in trouble, but he is amazed by her kindness to the other girl and also brings food and supplies. Later her parents notice them both gone, then go to search for them. They find the three and are at first shocked then see the difference made in the other girl and agree that it is good to be kind and share more.
