Sweetfang has recently been hearing voices. The voices of Sorrelheart, he is dragging Sweetfang into the dark forest, manipulating Sweetfang and dragging him farther and farther from Starclan. Telling Sweetfang that it is Starclan's fault Rosetail is dead and he can't walk properly. Sweetfang, wracked with grief, believes him, trusting Sorrelheart even after Sorrelheart yells at him.
