Hello! So sorry this took so long! I have been busy! So without further ado, let's go! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 3: Iris: It was dinnertime, & Ivy kept looking around. I decided I would ask her about it later. We were halfway through dinner, when the landline rang. Ivy went to pick it up, since it is her job for the month. When she picked it up, I heard the unmistakable voice of Ember. Ember was Ivy´s friend who made herself popular in a way that most people did not really like her, since she did not like them. She liked Ivy, but not me. Ember just kept talking on & on to poor Ivy. "-so I went to the mall today, where you should have been Ivy." Ember continued on the phone. "Ember, I can´t talk right now, I´m eating dinner with my family." Ivy almost shouted so Ember would hear her. "Hmm? Oh. It´s fine. They can wait until we finish, right?" Ember said, oblivious to the expressions on Mom & Dad´s faces. With a sigh, Ivy ended the call, even when Ember was still talking, since none of us really liked her. We ate peacefully for another ten minutes, then the phone rang, yet again. Ivy made her way to the phone, & it was Ember, again. She started talking immediately. "Why did you hang up Ivy? I just figured it out that I was talking to no one!" Ember pouted through the phone. "I can´t talk, Ember. I am busy." Ivy enunciated through the phone. "Too busy to talk about that twin of yours? I tell you, she is never going to be as good as you." Ember continued. I felt tears well up in my eyes. I knew what Ember thought of me, I just could not believe how much it hurt to hear it from her mouth. Asher & Aspen shot equally murderous looks at the phone, & my mom tried to comfort me, while my dad took the phone. "Hello, Ember. Say, is that what you think of Iris?" he asked. "Well, yeah. She is weird." Ember said, not guiltily at all. "Well you were on speakerphone, & our whole family heard it. Including Iris." Dad told Ember. "Oh. Well, Iris would find out eventually." Ember said. Dad ended the call, & tried to make me feel better, but it hurt that she felt that way. I thought I saw a shadow cross the wall. I would have to ask Ivy about that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wow. Ember was mean to Iris!
