Backstory: Melvin can live either on land or in water, but usually stays in the deep dark ocean to accompany the little glowing jellies of the deep. He stays there for the tranquillity, and to explore the sea to find all sorts of strange species of ocean animals. He loves to explore looking at all sorts of creatures from travelling with whales to sitting on the seafloor with crabs. Maybe one day he'll find a cat that's just like him. He was a cat used for experiments and was an experiment gone wrong and was thrown out of the laboratory, the scientists thinking they killed him already, but the serum they gave him made him into jelly which stopped the process of cells dying, therefore he was still alive and ran off to find somewhere where he wouldn't be disturb, which the ocean gave him the home <3
