As a kit, he nicknamed himself "Quill the Great." He never liked his name, but his parents were both poets, and he got stuck with that name. In a terrible accident a few days before his warrior training, he was blinded. Strangely enough, his parents thought he was fine because his eyes seemed unharmed. They preformed tests, like holding an object up in front of him, and he had to tell them what it was. Soon, Quill's parents realized that he was, in fact, blind. He was crushed when they told him he could not be a warrior, and decided to become a poet like his parents always wanted. At first, his parents were a little skeptical. If he was blind, how could he read and write? Quill soon showed an extraordinary talent to be able to do those even while blind. He became the king's poet and lives in the palace.
