Skulk was born in the ice kingdom, rejected for his shiny black scales. People say he inherited them from his great uncle, Hollowsoul, a night-sea hybrid. He had almost pure bloodlines, but the black scales sent him away as an outcast. He never met his younger brother Ermine. The majority of his life was spent as a gladiator in the skewing arena. The queen liked him as a collectors item, plus he was used to fighting. They bridled him like a horse and gave him a mask like a sabre toothed tiger, and named him Sabre in the arena.
