1. Click flag 2. Press space for next slide 3. Enjoy the project! (wait maybe Step 3 should be between repeated steps of Step 2.....) NOTE: The name on the drawing is my mom's name, not mine. I signed it after I took the pictures. Gotta keep my identity a secret! ALSO: Inside the project, there are the same pictures, but in bitmap. I put them there for anyone who can see more detail in bitmap pictures than vector pictures. This project was created on May 3rd, but posted on May 10th. I had a pretty big head start :) Materials used: >> Uni-ball Roller Pens (0.5 mm) - https://www.amazon.com/uni-ball-Roller-Micro-Point-0-5mm/dp/B00006IE8P?th=1 >> Copic Sketch markers - https://www.amazon.com/Copic-Markers-24-Piece-Sketch-Basic/dp/B003OQ57YG/ref=pd_ybh_a_8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=K4F8620ERSMZV7G3S7WM >> Strathmore Mixed Media 200 Series -I can't find where they sell this. Sorry guys :( Book referenced: >> The Master Guide To Drawing Anime: Tips and Tricks -https://www.amazon.com/Master-Guide-Drawing-Anime-Techniques/dp/1640210237 Videos Referenced (in the order I watched them): >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QUBe9nds5o >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snw3goFgRh8 >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcHsj6fb6w8 >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCjXu3kNbKE My Questions for YOU: >> What did you/have you done for Mother's Day? >> Do you draw anime? How long have you been doing it? >> Do you have any of the supplies I listed above? How well have they worked for you? >> Do you own the book I listed above? Has it helped you draw better and improve your skills? So I started my Mother's Day project 10 days early, and finished it 3 days later. Basically, my gift was completed exactly a week (7 days) before Mother's Day. I'm totally not an overachiever or anything... Looking back, I'm kinda amazed that I did this without using my mom as a reference. Seriously. I'm not kidding. My only reference was from the anime drawing book listed above. This anime piece took me so long! Also, a 3/4 perspective is pretty tedious to draw. You can still kinda see all of the erase marks I made. I really wanted that outline to be perfect! I also watched, like, 4 videos on how to use my Copic markers so that I didn't screw up the shading or coloring. I was really nervous, so I did the whole thing on a separate sheet of paper. I'm so glad I did, because I forgot a bunch of the shading on the test drawing, and I changed the hair shading color from the test drawing to the actual drawing last minute. And I learned how the color inside the lines ;))) I also had to make my own colors, like the shirt. That was a mix of warm gray and yellow. I think I did pretty good, right? NOTE: I'm not at all a professional at anime drawing. I don't want you Scratchers to think this is the first time I've drawn anime, and I'm perfect at it. Hence, a little background... I started this style about 3 years ago, and I've been doing it ever since. I own four anime books, but the only "premium" drawing supplies I own are the Copic Sketch markers, which I bought 2 weeks ago. I pretty much found everything else lying around the house or somewhere in my room. If you guys want more drawings from me, let me know in the comments! I should have enough stuff to do an art dump in a few weeks/a month
– whoever created anime. I literally couldn't have made this if they hadn't created the drawing style – me, for drawing it – also me, for all the product placement (*cough* not sponsored not affiliated *cough*) – whoever wrote Upside Down, so I could use their music in my project. Also, whoever I borrowed/stole the audio file from (heheh) – Amazon, Youtube, Christopher Hart, and all my art supplies for helping me make this piece (*cough* also not sponsored, also not affiliated *cough*) – Spotify, for helping me make a playlist to listen while I made this whole thing. I listened to 45 minutes of my favorite Phineas and Ferb music over and over – Photoshop, for helping me draft out my flat colors and pick out my palette – My printer and the guy who made paper, for allowing me to test out the drawing on a separate sheet of paper – And lastly, my mom, for helping me pick colors, being my subject of the drawing (but not my reference), and for just being an amazing mom ❤︎
