Christmas Attacks~Chapter 4, Death and more Misery A book by Sana ☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁ Immediately Kassandra tripped. She should have expected it. Kassandra was known in the village for her dagger skill, but they focused mainly on her snarkiness, and her clumsiness. She nearly stumbled back into Oli but her Father caught her. He helped her back up with a small smile. “Typical Kassandra, Tripping right when we leave the gates.” She blushed and pulled her hood up. “And right when she said she wasn’t gonna trip on a tree rot too.” Caleb teased, Pointing at the root that Kassandra had tripped on. “To be fair, anyone could have tripped on that.” “But you did,” Caleb emphasizes. He gives her a push, and she pushes him back. “If you two are gonna flirt then I’m going ahead.” Oli pushes his way up to his parents. Kassandra’s and Caleb’s cheeks flames. Everyone continues the walk in silence. After a while, They decide to rest. Kassandra had climbed a glowing tree which had proved not to be very safe, but convenient. Though Kassandra still had the slap mark where one of the branches had hit her. It had become increasingly dark. As they were in an enchanted forest, they decided that Melinda and Marvelcous, would sleep, and Kassandra and Caleb took Second watch. “So,” Caleb says, clearing his throat. “We’re stuck here for half the night so do you wanna talk about it?” Kassandra smiled, glad he had said “it” and not vision. “Not really,” Kassandra admitted. “Oh come one, No one’s gonna hear us!” Caleb protests. Kassandra points at her parents. Marvelcous had been eyeing Caleb very carefully and Melvinda had been giving the sappy smiles. Kassandra blushed, glad that the darkness hid it. “Parents.” She mumbles. “I know right?” Caleb flashes a grin. “I mean why do they have to be so embarrassing? Remember the Full Moon Festival?” Kassandra smiled. They had been walking down the stalls, both families, then due to Kassandra’s infamous clumsiness had tripped and almost fell. Caleb had grabbed her hand before she hit the ground and pretty soon, his parents and siblings had been whispering to her family. A shout broke the flashback. It had come from Marvelcous. He was lying on his back, his skin turning yellow and his eyes becoming alarmingly bloodshot. “DAD!” Kassandra screamed. She jumped up, dagger in hand. Caleb got up as well and searched her Father for any signs of injury. “Um, Kassandra you might want to see this.” She stalked over, feeling sick of what might have happened. She gasped and fell on her knees when she saw it. A dart had impaled itself in her Father’s back. And The Dart had a deadly sickness on it’s tip. He didn’t have much longer to live. “No, Dad, Stay! You have to stay! We need you!” Kassandra practically shouted as Caleb gently hugged her tight. Tears poured out of both pairs of eyes, Her mother was staring at the sky blank faced. “I…..Love…..you…...all……” Her dad managed to croak before breathing his last breath. As if that wasn’t enough trauma, Four blurs shot out of the forest. Kassandra and Caleb immediately were on their feet daggers out. Kassandra threw her’s at the one nearest to Oli, and Caleb threw his nearest to Melvinda. They both ducked and rolled. The other two had snuck up on Caleb and Kassandra and tipped a sweet smelling liquid down their throats. Same with Oli. Right before Kassandra hit the ground, she saw her mother being dragged away by the four figures. Eyes wide in panic ~~~~~~~~☁~~~~~~~~ (I'm sorry this didn't come out yesterday, I just wasn't feeling like writing yesterday. Sorry! But i hope you enjoyed this chapter!)
