Since I've been working on oc refs, I thought I'd share my design for Manatee. I think he turned out super cute!! Manatee is Mako's younger brother. He was born deaf, and gradually learned to speak Aquatic as a dominant language. He's very pure and the absolute sweetest dragon you could meet. However, when he was about six, he was killed by the frostbreath of an IceWing. He and Mako had been playing on the shore when a patrol of IceWings flying overhead landed by them. In this future version of Pyrrhia, SeaWings and IceWings are sworn enemies in the midst of war. The patrol had been preparing an ambush, and decided it was best to kill off any witnesses. Mako instinctively started to run away, but he realized a bit too late that he needed to get Manatee, who was oblivious to the fact that the IceWings were near. As soon as he turned to retrieve him, an IceWing shot a plume of frostbreath at Manatee, who died in front of Mako's eyes. This event traumatized Mako and he never forgave himself for it, even years later. Escaping from his past, he decided to leave the Kingdom of Sea. When he met his friends in Possibility, he began to heal. Peppermint especially helped him recover from the event that had haunted him his whole life. But when Peppermint died, Mako felt himself spiraling into the same depression that he had felt after losing Manatee. I think I need to develop their stories a bit more. Anyway, if you have feedback feel free to share it! I'm really happy with his design.
