Christmas Attacks ~ Chapter 3, Goodbyes ~~~~~~~~~☁~~~~~~~~~ The Elders had left the family to accept the fact that they were banished. Caleb offered to stay, But Kassandra cut him off and told him to go home. If he was being banished with them, he should at least spend some time with his family and have the time to pack his things. The Westivlers took the time to process the fact that they were banished from town. The Elders had given them one day to pack up everything and leave. As much as they had pleaded to the Elders that they hadn’t done such things, they had not listened. Apparently they had evidence that was not exposed to the townsfolk eyes. As they had no proof, the Westivlers had no choice but to pack up and leave. Kassandra dragged herself up the stairs and took out a large backpack. She packed all her clothes and belongings in it along with a couple of blankets and extra daggers. She then went over to assist Oli with his packing and they both headed downstairs. Waiting for them were their parents, both bags packed, and some extra backs with cooking supplies, food, water, and other things they would need. The Doorbell rang and Oli walked over to open it. Caleb appeared with a backpack and a canteen of water, along with some of his own food. Caleb quickly explained that he didn’t want to overburden the Family so he had brought some of his own supplies with him. Melvinda quickly assured him that he would not overburden them, and that he was so sweet to have chosen to leave town with them. Caleb smiled and glanced over at Kassandra. She was deep in thought, not even listening to the conversation going on. Kassandra twisted her Dagger back and forth between her palms. Her hand slipped and the Dagger cut into her skin. She tried to hide it but Caleb saw and she knew it. He walked over to where she was standing by the stairs. “You ok?” He grabs Kassandra’s bleeding palm. She yelps but no one else is paying attention. He forces her to meet his eyes. “Kassandra, What's going on? You aren’t this clumsy, nor are you ever this distracted.” She flinches as he squeezes her hand. “I- I can’t tell you….” “Why not?’’ Caleb asks slowly, forcing her to meet his eyes again. They were really distracting. The Silver sparkled, shining bright. It took her awhile to realize he had repeated the question. “Kassandra? Are you still with me?” Kassandra nods. She leads him outside to a bench in the front yard. Kassandra tells Caleb about the vision. Caleb grows paler as she continues. “Caleb, Are you okay? I knew I shouldn't have told you.” She shakes her head, trying to hide the tears falling from her eyes. “Hey,” Caleb says softly, “It’s fine, We’re gonna do this together, with your Family. Now, for current matters, let's wrap up your palm with some gauze before it bleeds everywhere.” He offers her a hand as he stands. Kassandra accepts it and lets him lead her back to the house and wrap her palm in gauze. Once done, Kassandra looks back at her home. Where she had her happiest memories, and her worst memories. She would never see it again. Oli started sniffling and Kassandra pulled him into a hug. Caleb hugged the little guy as well. The small party walked to the town gates where Caleb’s family were waiting. His Older sister, and Younger brother attacked him with a hug. Tears spilling everywhere. Then his parents came forward, even more tears then before. Once the Goodbyes were said, Kassandra, Caleb, Melvinda, Olivder, and Marvelcus all turned around to face their town. “Goodbye Definque” They all whispered as they entered the enchanted forest to begin a dangerous journey with many sacrifices ahead to make. ~~~~~~~~☁~~~~~~~~ The Elders had been watching them leave from the watch tower. After they had entered the forest, The Elders all sat down around the table that had been placed in the tower. “We had to banish them,” Elder Levi said. “We had no choice,If we didn’t do anything, it would make us look bad.” "Well,If we look on the bright side, at least we have the powerful one on her quest?” Elder Gelfunda says. “Yes, but she does not even know the prophecy! Nor does she know what she’s doing!” The Grand Elder protests. “Yes,” Elder Edlen admits, “But she is on her way and should soon find her path.” “All we have to hope for is that she chooses the right one.” Elder Adelina confirms what is on everyone’s mind. And with that, and a swoop of black capes, The meeting concludes. ~~~~~~~~☁~~~~~~~~ (sorry for a short chapter guys! i had a busy day yesterday)
