Short Writing Example - Russetpaw blinked open her eyes. She was curled up in her nest in the apprentice’s den, and she was the only one awake. Knowing she wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep, she sat up and shook loose pieces of moss off of her pelt. She stepped carefully over the slumbering bodies of other apprentices before exiting the den. A mix of moonlight and starlight poured down from the sky, lighting up the camp. She padded quietly over to the entrance of the camp and nodded respectfully to the guards, deciding she could go try to catch something before dawn arrived.
