Copied and pasted from Hum3d Over half a century has passed since the original Ford Mustang started the pony car segment at the dawning of the muscle car era. For 55 years Ford has kept the Mustang free of the extra versions, but 2019 has changed that completely with the introduction of the Mustang Mach-E, an all-electric crossover inspired by the ICE-powered sport coupe. To be available from late 2020, the Ford Mustang Mach-E will be offered with both standard and extended-range battery options and permanent magnet motors. Customers will be able to choose between rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive, another option that was never offered on the regular Mustang. Fitted with the extended-range battery and rear-wheel-drive, the Mustang Mach-E has an EPA-estimated range of over 300 miles. The most powerful version has standard all-wheel-drive and an estimated 459 horsepower and 830 Nm (612 lb-ft) of torque, enough for a 0-60 mph (97 kph) in around 3.5 seconds. Unlike other electric cars with a front trunk, the Mach-E's "frunk" is drainable but only offers 4.8 cubic feet of storage space. The rear trunk, which can be accessed through a lift gate, offers 29 cubic feet of space but can be improved to 59.6 cu ft of space if the rear seats are folded down, more than any other Mustang before it.
