This is my OC, Turtle. Press 'space' to see the ref. Better ref: https://www.deviantart.com/willowthegraycat/art/Turtle-Reference-Information-Backstory-842100193 Story: *spoilers for a comic I haven't drawn yet, and a map I have. pls join it. yayyy* Turtle grew up in a 'tropical' forest. And by that, they mean it had palm trees, sand, and a river surrounding their little 'island'. One day, when she was out by the river, she met a traveler, who gave her books, and taught her how to read. It was through this traveler that she met Berry. Berry didn't live all that far away, maybe a day, at most, but Turtle's parents didn't want her to leave, and neither did Berry's. The traveler exchanged their notes for them, and they became a sort of... 'pen pals'. Anyways, Berry never DID learn how to write or read, but the traveler was always kind enough to do that for her. Turtle sometimes wondered if Berry was even real. She had looked at the traveler's maps, and seen where 'Berry' lived, but she wasn't all too sure. When she came of age, though, Turtle decided to travel with the traveler and go see Berry. So she bid farewell to her parents and set off. She met Berry at a mountain, along with Berry's friends; Supernova and Bone, and her boyfriend; Wiggle. They soon met Furrow and Mewdle, the dewlings that live in the caves of the mountain, and the traveler set off again, on a great journey. So Turtle, in essence, was alone. She talked to Berry, sure, but it wasn't the same, and the others were all so... unfamiliar. Supernova seemed excited to be friends, but the others didn't pay too much attention to her. So she sank into her books, like before, only this time instead of a penpal, she had an over-grown kitten covered in scars, who was quite adamant in her decision to learn reading and writing, despite having less than a preschool education, and the misconception that she could change any story by loudly advising the characters on what to do while Turtle was reading to her. It was... oddly endearing. Then the thing happened. Turtle... well, she died. It was a messed up turn of events, and it WASN'T Supernova's fault, no matter how many times Supernova apologized. Wiggle, somehow, had convinced Supernova that it would be hilarious to steal Turtle's books, and, somehow, they'd found themselves out by the cliff, and the ground started shaking and crumbling, and Turtle found herself falling. . .then she woke up, and entered heaven. One day, not too long after this, she saw Supernova, staring up at her from just outside the gates. Turtle flew out and grabbed her, carrying her inside without a second thought. Supernova belonged in there just as much as she did, if not MORE so. Eventually, they were found out, and cats started getting angry. Supernova wouldn't stop APOLOGIZING, but Turtle wouldn't forgive her. Because she didn't NEED too. And that's what she said. Harm done, certainly! Harm done. But no bad intentions. Supernova, her only friend in the afterlife, couldn't get thrown out. And that was just a fact of life. Or a fact of AFTERlife, per-say. Meanwhile though, stuff was happening in the real world. Stuff like...Wiggle trying to bring them both back to life. And he succeeded. Sort of. You see, on this world DEW is the main 'element' of life, for the DEWlings. Wiggle did research, and found crystals. Crystals were the life source of dewlings, and were responsible for all dewling transformations, and other abilities. Turtle and Supernova didn't have crystals, but Wiggle was SURE if they did, he could bring them back to life...but Turtle and Supernova weren't even dewlings. Now, that would have been a problem if it weren't for SCIENCE(his friend Mewdle, a scientist), which somehow fixes the problem(Mewdle's smart, okay??). Turtle and Supernova were then revived, and rose from the grave...as dewlings. Dewlings are by no means immortal, but they live for a significantly longer time than normal cats. That worried Turtle, and she wondered if she could have a good life, outliving all her friends. But Supernova reminded her that she'd always have Supernova. Supernova apologized, AGAIN, lamented on how it might not be enough, but she'd stick by Turtle's side as long as Turtle wanted her too. If she wanted her to. And Turtle told her NO: it wasn't her fault, and YES: she did. Want her to stay, that is. After that, things weren't exactly different, per-say, but they had a lighter feel to them. Nothing was ever perfect, though, and Turtle went on many more adventures, much more than there's time to share in this story description. So I've told you her 'backstory', as it is, and the basic plot for HER side of the 'Cats Who Fall' story. Her story's conclusion won't be included here, though, in part because I haven't thought of it yet, and in part because this is too long already.

Description

Fun Facts: -actually likes it when others come to ask her for advice, and, along with Bone and Mewdle, is considered one of the 'smart' cats in their group. -such a tsundere to everyone -one of my friends wrote a non-canon comic in this world where Turtle likes Wiggle and Supernova likes Berry and they're working together to try to break them up -featured in a slideshow I did for spanish class about my daily routine, a slide where she's putting on a scarf -got her name from a misconception I had about what a 'tortoiseshell' cat is CREDITS Written by: @PuddleCat Character by: @PuddleCat Story by: @PuddleCat World by: @PuddleCat Song: Your Obedient Servant from Hamilton Inspiration: Just, like, cats in general
