Just a few things about the world they're in... the main plot is that dragons have just returned after being who knows where and nobody knows why OR how to deal. There's obviously a bunch of other magical fantasy creatures (like this child) too that sorta are just vibing as characters and stuff?? yeah that's enough background

BIO STUFF: Name: Rusco (Roos-Koh) Species: Wilrat Age: The human equivalent of 19 Pronouns: They/Them Personality Stuff: A big troublemaker, a little too much energy, good at reading people and will work to cheer up certain friends. Very chaotic, but when it comes down to it they'll stick to the side that is less intrusive and maliciously violent. Likes traveling and new places, but gets a little overwhelmed in crowds of other creatures. They usually stick to the forest though, so that's rarely a problem. Species info/background: Rusco and their small pack of Wilrats live prosperously in the Tarr forest amongst the large Frumbrohm population. Though they lack the organization and physical strength of the larger predators (they only reach about 1.5 feet in length at most), the Wilrats developed a slightly nomadic lifestyle that allows them to evade enemies and live stories that they tell well into the night during their travels. They survive as scavengers and thieves, taking from humanoid civilization as well as other wildlife. The only other native intelligent creatures to the Tarr forest are the Frumbrohms. The differences between the two species go beyond their physical behaviors and appearances. Wilrats have no inherent connection to the gods and most of their lore and stories are based around their family group's history. Backstory: Rusco came from a very large family pack and, tired of dealing with so many faces, they left as soon as they found a good opportunity. They didn't travel alone for long; a small rag-tag group of four took them in. They've become an expert thief since, braving the small towns on the outskirts of the forest for food and shiny goodies they trade to crows for directions and news. The return of the dragons, though it came as a surprise, did not cause any immediate change in Rusco's life. That was until to riders arrived, bringing with them dangerous and enticing adventure.
