A: A pet cafe is a version of a DTA where new designs are continuously added. There is a short period of time in which one of the “pets” is open for adoption. You draw the pet you want in hopes to “adopt” them. When the due date hits for that pet, a results project is sent out for that /singular pet/. All entries are displayed and at the end, the winner is revealed. It also provides commentary on every single entry! Q: What is a DTA? A: DTA stands for Draw To Adopt. Basically, you draw the character(s) you want, hoping to claim the character as your own. But only the winner can use the character. If you do win, the character is fully yours and you can do whatever you’d like with it (just don’t forget to credit me for the design)! Q: What is the whole “seasons” thing? A: Basically, I’m just going to be drawing a bunch of designs that relate to one of the seasons, or months in the season. Q: May I join? A: Ofc, as long as the pet you want isn’t already adopted! Q: Can I change the design a bit? A: Yes, just keep it pretty similar. Q: Can I enter for multiple? A: Yes, but you can only win three /at the very most/. This is just so it’s fair, and other artists get a chance. There’s going to be about 20-ish in the end result, so I don’t need one person hoarding all of 20. - R U L E S - - Please don’t use the design except for in your entry (unless, ofc, you win). - If you do adopt a pet, please credit me, not for the art, but the design. - Do /not/ insult someone else’s artwork! You will be eliminated from the competition /immediately/! - Please, don’t insult your own art, either. If you do, you won’t be eliminated or warned or anything, I’d just prefer it if you didn’t. Don’t spend your time hating your art and comparing it to other’s, be happy that you at least tried! Winning isn’t the main focus, having fun is. - If you adopt a pet, please use it /at least/ once. Is that so much to ask for? The correct answer is no. - Follow da rules :p - I M P R O V I N G Y O U R C H A N C E S ! - Here are some ways you can get a better chance of adopting a pet: - Shade/Highlight - Animate - Multiple Drawings - EFFORT! - Ref - BG (no, not a two color gradient or something, an actual scene) - Bio (name, gender, personality, likes, dislikes, backstory, etc.) - Good backstory However, none of those are necessary, just recommend if you want to improve your chances of adopting the pet.
