Stay safe everyone! Inspired by the recent COVID-19 outbreak, this is an epidemic simulator. Experiment with different parameters to see how they affect the spread of disease! OVERVIEW - Use the controls in the top right to start, pause, or reset the simulation. - Blue dots are susceptible to the disease, red dots have the disease, and white dots have recovered from the disease. - The displays on the left show statistics of the simulation. - The graph at the bottom displays the infected, susceptible, and recovered over time. SETTINGS - Population density is measured using area. - Infection probability is the probability that a dot gets infected after interacting with an infected dot. - Recovery time is the number of frames it takes for a dot to recover. - Quarantining isolates infected dots a short time after they become infected.
Heavily inspired by the COVID-19 outbreak and the YouTube channels 3Blue1Brown and Numberphile. The simulation is based on the SIR (Susceptible, Infected, Recovered) model of disease.
