The Queen coughed up blood and her fur was stained red with it. Though she was not alone in her room, beside the bed she laid in was the King his eyes blank for he had not slept. Suddenly the Queen spoke, "Its almost time,” She said her voice cracked with strain. “N-no!” the King suddenly spoke alarmed, "The sage will come! They will know how to help!” “No… they won’t be able to fix what’s been done, the pain is from inside,” She paused to cough but it was quiet and Wheezy no blood came out this time, "Even if they come in time they will not be able to fix it, it’s my time,” “B-but you can’t leave me! The spirits must have mercy!” he got up and put his paw on her chest but the breathing was shallow. “Heh..heh,” she chuckled and smiled at the King trying to tell him all the words that couldn’t be said. "If only the sickness hadn’t gotten to you…” the King said his eyes close to tears but no tears were left to spill. By the time the sage came to the room the Queen had passed, her body held a smile and all the wisdom that she had been given over the years.
